Moving to Manor Park
Manor Park is a charming subdivision in Rockville, Maryland in Montgomery County. It is a planned subdivision on the perimeter of the Manor Country Club, of which many residents are members. Manor Park is bordered to the northwest by Norbeck Road, to the south by Bel Pre Road, and to the east by Georgia Avenue. Though planned subdivisions have the reputation for producing cookie-cutter homes, that is certainly not the case in Manor Park. Manor Park boasts around 350 diverse homes situated on wooded lots with mature landscaping and views of the golf course. Homes in Manor Park were typically constructed between 1938 and 1988, and are a mix of mid-century modern, Tudor, and cottage homes.
One of the best places to live in Rockville, MD, Manor Park is known for being a tight-knit and social community, in large part because of the Manor County Club. Many neighborhood children swim and play tennis together while adults socialize on the 18-hole golf course or at the annual black-tie Holly Ball. The Manor Country Club also has holiday events like Breakfast with Santa, a Gingerbread Making Party, and Halloween Magic Shows.
Beyond the Manor Country Club there is a great sense of community in Manor Park, as there are a number of second- and third-generation families who choose to remain in the neighborhood. Manor Park is a fantastic location as it is only 3 miles from the Glenmont Metro Station (red line), 20 minutes from Gaithersburg, 25 minutes from Silver Spring and Bethesda, and 45 minutes from Baltimore. The children of Manor Park belong to the Montgomery County School System and attend Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary, Flower Valley Elementary, Earle B. Wood Middle and Rockville High (which offers AP and IB programs).
