South Four Corners is a lively and charming neighborhood located in Silver Spring, MD.

As its name suggests, South Four Corners is the southern part of the Four Corners area, which is an unincorporated neighborhood located in Montgomery County, MD. South Four Corners is bordered by Dennis Avenue and University Boulevard to the north, Colesville Road to the southeast, Forest Glen Road to the south and Sligo Creek Parkway to the west.

Of the approximately 1,200 homes in South Four Corners, most of them are Colonials, with a fair amount of Cape Cods, ramblers, and split-levels. The Colonials and Cape Cods were mainly constructed before and during World War II, whereas the newer ramblers and split-levels were constructed in the 1950s and 1960s. The oldest homes in South Four Corners date back to the 1920s and 1930s. One of the benefits of living in such an established neighborhood is the presence of mature trees that make for a pleasant tree canopy over the streets. Residents have surely recognized the beauty and value that these trees bring, and have continued to plant new trees to replenish the canopy over the next 25 years.

One of the best parts about South Four Corners is its stellar location. Being located by the Beltway and the Washington, DC line makes it easy to go northwest, east, or south easily and quickly. Residents of the delightful South Four Corners also reap the benefits of being located near the Forest Glen Metro Station and downtown Silver Spring. Downtown Silver Spring can be accessed by an easy bike ride or a quick trip in the car. The pathways of Sligo Creek and trails of Northwest Branch Park are an added advantage to living in this sweet Silver Spring neighborhood as residents can enjoy riding their bicycles or walking on paths. The nearby Woodmoor Shopping Center offers everything from from the popular Woodmoor Pastry Shop to the Silver Spring Stage. Downtown Silver Spring also hosts a variety of events like the annual Jazz Festival, parades, concerts, and more, which people from all around partake in.

The close-knit community of South Four Corners is what residents take pride in, with a plethora of community activities that are suitable for all ages. The Citizens Association sponsors activities like block parties, garden tours, holiday festivities, movie in the park, and ice cream socials. They also sponsor National Night Out, Adopt-A-Road, Community Day, Halloween Parade, and the Community Yard Sale. There is also a year-round farmers market that is popular with locals and residents of neighboring communities.

One of the main advantages of living in South Four Corners is access to an excellent school system. Montgomery County schools are consistently ranked as some of the best in the nation, and living in this charming community lends access to this excellent school system. Children of South Four Corners attend school in two different school districts. They attend Oakland Terrace Elementary School or Sligo Creek Elementary School; Silver Spring International or Sligo Middle School; and Northwood High School or Albert Einstein High School. Another added advantage is access to the DCC (Downcounty Consortium) which allows students to choose a high school (space-permitting) that aligns with their preferred academic area of study. These choices include Montgomery Blair, Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy, Northwood, and Wheaton.
